Privacy

What we collect

• Vote interactions: we track vote totals and apply basic anti-abuse checks.
• Contact messages: name (optional), email, and message content.
• Story submissions: story text and any optional details you provide (like name/email).
• Join/updates: your email (and optional name) if you opt in.
• Abuse prevention metadata: limited technical info like a hashed IP and user-agent to help detect spam/bots. (We don’t store your raw IP address as plain text when hashing is enabled.)

Why we collect it

• To operate ATLË (record votes, receive messages, store stories).
• To prevent abuse (rate limiting, spam filtering, captcha when needed).
• To send updates if you explicitly opt in.

Publishing stories

We only publish stories when you choose “consent to publish.” If published, we may remove identifying info and/or publish without your name.

Sharing

We don’t sell your personal information. We may use service providers needed to run the site (hosting, database, email delivery). They only get what’s necessary to provide the service.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe: if you join for updates, you can unsubscribe anytime.
• Access / delete: you can request that we remove your contact message or submission.
• Don’t overshare: please avoid sending passwords, financial info, or sensitive identifiers.

Data retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the site’s purpose (and to prevent abuse). If you request deletion, we’ll honor it unless we must retain something for security or legal reasons.
